Morley Quarry is situated half a mile south of Shepshed and offers new routes in the "Cornwall Shale Cliffs" vein. Although the rock is not shale you may wish that it was.
A quarry is not now looked upon merely as a source of stone; the abandoned workings may be used by climbers, as a nature reserve or even a tipping site. The implication is that the landscape no longer develops by a process of 'natural' evolution, but become part of a master plan on someone's desk.
