About
The aim of this website is to pull together all the disparate sources of information on Leicestershire Bouldering; whether that be the old Leicestershire Climbs guidebook, the now sadly offline LeicesteshireClimbs.co.uk, contributions to UKClimbing.com, Clint Maskell and Mike Adams' Vimeo and Instagram accounts, CademanBouldering.com and the odd blog post here and there. This information has been out there for a long time but is so spread out that relatively few have been to some of these places and done these problems. Hopefully now that it is presented together in one place people will find this information and use it to venture away from the usual honeypots.
I have uploaded all the pictures I have of these places as I know that many find it easier to get motivated to visit a place if they know what to expect. If you have any photos you would like to contribute please do send them to me!
This project started out in 2017 as a series of articles written for the Warwick University Climbing Club website on crags local to the university. These articles were (affectionately?) dubbed the Choss Chronicles by readers for their accounts of Warwickshire Rock. Very soon we ran out of Warwickshire rock and moved on to Leicestershire, where the quality of the rock improved dramatically. Check out Warwickshire Climbs and try not to despair.

Leicestershire rock-climbing-wise is not an 'ace' area but Leicester climbers in the past have gained a great deal of satisfaction and knowledge by utilising the facilities during the weeks of light nights in the summer season. It is the hope of the Leicester Association of Mountaineers that other climbers may find entertainment and keep their technique up to scratch pleasantly and happily in Leicestershire, as in fact Leicester climbers have in the past.
I have heard Harrison's Rocks described as the 'Climber's Mecca', then I will say in the same light as that was said that 'If Harrison's is the Climbers' Mecca, then surely God must live somewhere in Leicestershire'.

To those outside, it is hoped that the brief account here given may stimulate an interest to know more; while to those born, or living within the Forest area, it may help to increase the love they cannot help but have for Charnwood Forest.

My Charnwood, like the last, hath in herself alone
What excellent can be in any forest shown.
